Providing new essential items to children experiencing foster care and homelessness.

There are consistently 2,200 children experiencing foster care in Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Additionally, there are more than 5,500 children in Alameda and Contra Costa County experiencing homelessness at any given time.

Sadly, when a child is removed from their homes, they have limited time to grab their belongings, the majority of the time forgetting the essential items. Set To Thrive provides children experiencing foster care and homelessness with a custom bag filled with new brand name essential items to bring comfort and confidence during a vulnerable time.

How It All Started:

Lisa Henderson founded Set To Thrive to ease the transition for children experiencing foster care and homelessness. Set To Thrive came from the idea that children experiencing foster care and homelessness deserves access to new, brand name essential items giving them a sense of comfort and confidence during a difficult time in their lives.
